President Trump sought to downplay recent revelations surrounding the Russia probe on Saturday, saying the stock market was rising despite the “hoax story.”
“Stock Market hit another all-time high yesterday – despite the Russian hoax story! Also, jobs numbers are starting to look very good!” the president tweeted.

The stock market closed Friday after a week of bombshell revelations surrounding the probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian election meddling.

Trump Jr. said earlier this week that the meeting ultimately “went nowhere and it was apparent that that wasn’t what the meeting was actually about.”
On Friday it was reported that a Russian-American lobbyist accompanied the lawyer at the meeting as well as a former Soviet counterintelligence officer.
Despite the revelations, U.S. stocks closed out strong on Friday with U.S. stocks reaching record highs on various indexes.
The SP 500’s index gained 11.44 points rising to 2,459.27, while the Dow gained 84.65 points, and rose to 21,637.74, according to CNN Money.
The Dow has reached 42 all times highs since President Trump was elected in November, while the SP has reached 33 all-time highs since the election.
