OPENING
“Menopause the Musical” Four women at a lingerie sale have nothing in common except a black-lace bra and memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and more. This humorous celebration of women and “The Change” is set to classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Opens Thursday, May 19, and continues through July 2. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday with 1:15 p.m. matinees on select days and 7 p.m. twilight Sundays. Meals served beforehand. $39 to $62. Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. 278-4422 or broadwaypalm.com
CLOSING
“The Dixie Swim Club” Enduring friendships are at the heart of this lively story where five very different women — who met on their college swim team — reconnect every year at a beachfront home in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. These women leave behind husbands, jobs and kids to laugh, reminisce and meddle in each other’s lives. 8 p.m. today through Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South, downtown Naples. 263-7990 or naplesplayers.org
“Funny Girl” Based on the life of Fanny Brice, this musical comedy follows the star from her start in a Brooklyn music hall to her impressive rise to fame with the Ziegfeld Follies. Includes the songs “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star” and the Barbra Streisand hit “People.” 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday. Meals served beforehand. $26-$62. Broadway Palm, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. 278-4422 or broadwaypalm.com
“The Who The What” This poignant new comedy looks at a loving family divided by faith. Focused on finishing her novel about women and Islam, Zarina meets Eli, a man who helps to connect her modernistic life and the traditions forced upon her with her heritage. But when Zarina’s very traditional father and sister learn about her book, the entire family must face their beliefs and their culture. 8 p.m. today through Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $54-$64 ($20 for students). Gulfshore Playhouse in The Norris Center, 755 Eighth Ave., downtown Naples. 261-7529 or gulfshoreplayhouse.org
