Well according to Rebecca Wright, a marketing expert from Ultimo, there are 3 key steps to nailing the perfect lady-to-lingerie combination, which all comes down to doing your research before hitting the high street.

Know her size

No one wants an unflatteringly large pair of Bridget Jones knickers under the tree. You’ll need to make a note of her cup size, chest measurement and brief size, which you can find on the labels in her underwear drawer.

Know her colour

Don’t opt for a garish fabric or pattern because it’s the first thing you spot on the mannequin – get to know the types of materials and colours she prefers.
