Elise Mosca, who took a leave from her teaching job in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District to be a contestant on “The Bachelor,” will be on another ABC reality show.
Network spokeswoman Candice A. Ashton confirmed Mosca will be on the cast of “Bachelor in Paradise,” which premieres Aug. 4.
Wilkes-Barre Area officials expect to know by July if Mosca intends to return to her job, Solicitor Raymond Wendolowski said.
Officials did not know she was going to be on “The Bachelor” when the school board approved her first unpaid leave in September. The district has an unwritten policy, based on past practice, to approve an unpaid leave for any unspecified reason for up to two years.
The school board approved her unpaid leave for the second semester on Jan. 13, a week after her first appearance on “The Bachelor” on Jan. 6.
Mosca, 28, had an annual salary of $51,980 for the 2012-13 school year. The school district hired her in 2009, and she has worked as a first- and second-grade teacher at Heights Elementary School and Dodson Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre.
After a nine-year-old video of Mosca surfaced in January, Wendolowski said he would see if the district could terminate Mosca for immorality. The video, “Yule Log Hotties,” shows several women, including Mosca, in sexy lingerie.
Wendolowski may not have to make that determination if Mosca does not want to return to work for the school district.
Mosca did not return messages seeking comment Monday.
On June 4, People.com reported Mosca was on the cast of “Bachelor in Paradise,” in which former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants go to Mexico. During the past season of “The Bachelor,” Juan Pablo Galavis dismissed Mosca from the show in week four after a group date in Seoul, Korea.
