Fittings will take approximately 30 minutes per person, so there will be only six appointments per hour. Products will be on hand the day of the event. Orders placed that day for products not in stock will be received in approximately one week, according to press information.
Boone’s is the only franchise in Oklahoma and is one of eight in the United States. LiviRae brings the business to the customer, and fittings are done in the privacy of your home or in a mobile dressing room.
For Boone, the goal was to align herself with an organization that focuses on custom fit, customer service and excellent breast health.
“I was fitted at LiviRae Lingerie about a year ago, and it was truly a wonderful experience,” she said. “I thought ‘This is an experience every woman should have at least once in her life.’ When the opportunity presented itself, I knew I wanted to be a part of this.
“Clients that visit LiviRae Lingerie were expected to be the ones who have a hard time finding bras to fit. However, in the short time that I have been doing this, I have found women — all women — would like to be professionally fitted for a bra.
“At LiviRae Lingerie, we can fit you into a bra no matter your size. We fit anyone from a 28A all the way up to a 52N.”
The company also carries a limited line of men’s products that will also be available the day of the event.
For a personal fitting by Boone or the Double Divas, clients can purchase a $50 ticket in advance at bit.ly/LiviRaeTulsaevent. The ticket guarantees a fitting appointment time and will be applied to the purchase of products.
The Double Divas will also host a meet-and-greet at the same venue following the fitting event. It’s open and free to the public.
To make an appointment for a complimentary fitting during regular business hours, contact Boone, who is a certified bra fit specialist, by email (bboone.lryw@gmail.com), phone (918-409-7472) or through the LiviRae Your Way-Tulsa Facebook page. No purchase is required.
Studies show more than 85 percent of women are wearing an ill-fitting bra, and LiviRae shares five ways to evaluate bra fit.
1. Straps should be loose and comfortable, and the weight of your breasts should be supported by the bands and cups. If the straps are uncomfortable, you’re wearing the wrong size.
2. The underwire should sit directly under the breast flush against your ribcage and sternum. If the wide is poking you in the side, the cup size is too small.
3. Your breast should sit in the cup like a pocket. If your breast tissue is spilling over the top of the bra, the cup size is too small.
4. The band should sit firmly around the body and not ride up in the back. If the band fits properly, you will feel firm support through the entire bra.
5. The gore (center panel between the cups) should sit firmly against your sternum touching your skin. If the gore isn’t touching your sternum, you need a bigger cup size or a tighter band.
Hicks Brunson Eyewear, 2020 Utica Square, will celebrate its 63rd anniversary and a Tom Davies trunk show 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Clients will be able to sip wine and taste hors d’oeuvres while choosing from among hundreds of ready-to-wear and limited-edition frames.
Hicks Brunson can also make a bespoke frame “tailored to fit you perfectly” and made to measure “in custom colors that complement your natural coloring.”
Brunson offered these tips for picking out custom eyewear.
Let your optician get to know you. First, determine if your new glasses will be worn for a fun and casual setting or for a more formal business environment. Then establish what kinds of things you liked and did not like about your last pair of glasses and what your optical requirements are. Was your last frame heavy and always slipping down your nose? Was the color of the frame too bold or just right for your personality?
Choose the right color and shape. It’s important that the color and shape of your frame not only complement your natural coloring and face shape, but also enhance your personality. For example, for women cat-eye frames are playful and fun while aviator frames can be sporty and sexy. For color, there are 30 options from which opticians will make suggestions. Ultimately, it will come down to choosing one that balances your personality with how you want to present yourself.
Get the right fit. Detailed measurements will be taken of the bridge of your nose and the positioning of your ears. It is important the temples be perfectly sculpted around your ears and set to the proper width of your head. Your optician will make suggestions based on your past experience with eyewear to get the proper temple fit for you.
The final design. Small changes to the shape and size of the frame you choose will accommodate all the measurements taken and colors chosen. For the best optical performance, custom digital lenses will be made for your custom frame.
