Chehalis Resident Reports Fraud

• At 2:26 p.m. on Friday, a person in the 100 block of Southwest 22nd Street in Chehalis reported someone was fraudulently using her Social Security number. 

Mannequin Wearing Lingerie Missing After Burglary

• At 6:28 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a burglary in the 1000 block of North National Avenue. Windows were reportedly broken at the store. A mannequin wearing lingerie was stolen, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

Vehicle Hits Pedestrian

• At 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, an accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian was reported in the 200 block of Northwest State Avenue. The pedestrian was in a wheelchair and did not have serious injuries. No further information was available.

Firearm Reported Stolen

• At 1:09 p.m. Saturday, a person in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue reported a firearm stolen.

Assault Reported at Green Hill School

• At 8:58 p.m on Saturday, an assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. No arrests were made. The incident is under investigation.

Gasoline Reported Stolen

• At 11:02 a.m. on Monday, a person in the 200 block of Southwest First Street in Chehalis reported gasoline stolen from a truck the night before.

Vodka, Steak on Menu for Alleged Chehalis Shoplifters

• Mitchell W. Sinclair, 46, of Centralia was cited and released at 4:31 p.m. Friday on suspicion of third-degree theft after allegedly stealing a bottle of vodka in the 1000 block of South Market Boulevard. 

• John C. Fage, 57, of Centralia, was cited and released at 4:55 p.m. Friday on suspicion of third-degree theft after allegedly trying to return a stolen item to a store.

• Niki Dembele, 36, of Centralia, was cited and released at 8:44 p.m. Friday on suspicion of third-degree theft after allegedly shoplifting $217 worth of miscellaneous items, including clothing.

• Matthew W. Tracy, 43, of Centralia, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue after allegedly shoplifting a backpack containing New York strip steaks, sea salt, bandanas and other items. He was also booked on an outstanding warrant.

• Darcie N. Negrete, 23, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft, obstruction and a warrant at 6:42 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue after allegedly trying to return stolen items.

• Lili N. Holster, 34, of Chehalis, was cited and released on suspicion of third-degree theft at 6:42 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue.

Panhandler Asks for Weed

• At 12:51 p.m. Sunday, police received reports of a person standing in the 1000 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue with a sign asking people for “weed.” No arrests were made.

Tattooed Intruder Breaks Down Door

• At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller in the 2000 block of North National Avenue reported that a tattooed man tore down a door. The person reported the man also “came at him with a club,” according to the Chehalis Police Department. No arrests were made.

Rock Thrown Through Window

• At 8:23 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report of a person throwing a rock through a window in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue.

Woman Cited for Disorderly Conduct

• Kazia D.M. Hartmann, 31, of Centralia, was cited for disorderly conduct at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of National Avenue.

Construction Equipment Stolen

• At 7:11 a.m. on Tuesday, equipment was reported stolen from a construction trailer in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue.

Rock-Throwers Reported on Harrison, Borst Avenues

• At 7:39 a.m. on Tuesday, police received reports of someone throwing a rock and breaking a window in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue. At 8:42 a.m., police received a similar report in the 2400 block of Borst Avenue.

Liquor Stolen in Burglary

• At 8:56 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of a burglary in the 1400 block of South Gold Street. Liquor and other items were reported stolen. 

Medication Reported Stolen

• At 9:41 a.m. on Tuesday, a burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Johnson Road. Medication was reported stolen from an apartment.

Police Investigate Assault

• At 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report of an assault between a man and a woman in the 3000 block of Borst Avenue. Police are investigating the incident.

Man Arrested After Mischief

• David L. Brosius, 28, of Vader, was arrested at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of malicious mischief in the third degree.

Ashford Man Arrested for Theft

• Bryan R. Morford, 32, of Ashford, was arrested and booked at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday for theft in the third degree.

Shoplifter Cited

• Toni L. Meier, 44, of Centralia, was cited and released at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting. 

Fake $50 Bill Used in Centralia

• Police are investigating a fake $50 bill used at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

Cash Stolen in Burglary

• At 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 1200 block of Lum Road. Cash was reported stolen.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Man Extradited From Idaho for Gun Theft Charges

• Clinton Robert Duesterbeck, 36, of Caldwell, Idaho, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 9:15 a.m. Friday to face gun theft charges. Duesterbeck allegedly stole a .40 caliber pistol in Lewis County in December. 

Tools Stolen in Bunker Creek Road Burglary

• A burglary was reported in the 100 block of Bunker Creek Road in Chehalis. The burglary occurred on Friday or Saturday. The victim, a 79-year-old Chehalis man, reported a weed trimmer, leaf blower, chain saw, air compressor, a five-gallon can of gas and binoculars valued at $1,100 stolen. 

Burglars Use Wire Cutters to Break Into Two Storage Units

• Burglars gained access to two storage units in the 700 block of Highway 12 in Ethel between Friday and Sunday by cutting a fence with wire cutters, removing screws on a metal outer wall, and breaking a wood interior wall. Items including bracelets, a necklace, a medallion, luggage and a 35-millimeter camera were reported stolen. 

Two Burglaries Reported in Salkum, Wooden Bear Stolen

• Two burglaries were recently reported in the 2500 block of Spencer Road in Salkum. The first burglary happened between April 26 and Saturday. A weed trimmer and gas were reported stolen. The second burglary happened on May 14. Items stolen from a shed and deck include a wooden bear, fishing rod and a security camera. 

Dog Bites Child in Mineral

• A 10-year-old child sustained injuries to the face requiring four stitches at 7 p.m. Saturday at a campground in the 100 block of Front Street. According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was retrieving a football from a neighboring campground when the dog, a four-year-old Lab mix, bit him. The dog is in quarantine.

Vehicle Theft, Hit and Run Reported in Chehalis

• A person allegedly crashed a stolen 2003 Hyundai Elantra into a power pole at 2:44 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Haight Road in Chehalis. Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office did not locate the driver. The car’s owner told deputies he left the keys in the car. 

Sheriff’s Office Investigates Report of Pornographic Text Messages

• At 12:33 p.m. Sunday, a person in the 1000 block of F Street in Vader reported a 14-year-old sending and receiving text messages containing nude photos with a 21-year-old in Texas. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report.

Chehalis Man Arrested for Harassment

• Daniel J. Barns, 59, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of felony harassment. He is being referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for 17 counts of violation of a protection order. Barnes allegedly sent his wife threatening text messages and voicemails.

Woman Arrested for DUI After Crash

• Stephanie A. Pedersen, 44, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of DUI at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after her vehicle crashed in the 2900 block of Jackson Highway. 

Riverside Fire Authority

Cooking Fire Damages Chehalis Home

• At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Riverside Fire Authority crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the 100 block of Kodiak Lane in Chehalis. Crews arrived to find that a pan with cooking oil was left unattended on a stove. The oil caught fire, damaging cabinets, a fan, lights and the stove. Damage is estimated at $8,000.
