Rosie Huntington-Whiteley recently launched her lingerie collection under the title “Rosie for Autograph” in partnership with Marks Spencer. The underwear line has become an instant hit. The 25-year-old has revealed that she was approached by other brands as well, but none of them felt right for her to put her name to.
The Vitoria’s Secret Angel admitted that she decided to launch her lingerie collection in collaboration with Marks Spencer because she felt a very personal connection to the brand and since it was the shop where she had bought her very first bra.
According to the Daily Mail, she said, “I love Marks Spencer: it’s so iconically British. Everybody shops there, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a massive income or not. It just told a nice story for me. I brought my first bra there.”
The model-turned-designer, who is famous for her ultra-feminine form, revealed that she thinks of lingerie as the ”ultimate” feminine purchase and feels empowered in her underwear.
Rosie, who has previously modeled underwear for brands including Chantal Paris, Agent Provocateur and Monsoon, told Stylist, “It wasn’t a plan. It’s just naturally my look, I guess. I felt empowered doing lingerie shoots.”
She continued, “Lingerie is the ultimate feminine buy and I love the feeling it gives women, the empowerment. I love that it’s from women only and men afterwards.”
Although Rosie Huntington-Whiteley boasts a phenomenal figure, the Devon-born model confessed that there was once a time when she was called Tit-lips at school, because she had bigger lips and no cleavage.
However, that time is past her now and Rosie’s 1920s-inspired underwear for MS, which went on sale last month, is currently selling like hot cakes.
Talking about what was the inspiration behind the 33-piece lacy collection, the model said, “I trawled my favorite vintage shops and flea markets in London, LA and Paris. I found a treasure trove of gorgeous clothes and ornate pieces of jewellery, as well as pictures and patterns in old design books and fashion magazines. I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the Twenties.”
“Beautiful lingerie makes me special from the inside out. This Rosie for Autograph collection is made with luxurious silk and exquisite French-designed lace. These ultra-feminine fabrics are so elegant and soft next to your skin. I hope you love wearing them as much as I do, enjoy,” she added.
