PELHAM, N.H. — Police in Pelham, New Hampshire turned to Facebook to find suspected vandals.

Officers used photos posted on the site to identify teenagers involved in the vandalism of a local park last month.

A fence was torn apart and burned.

Investigators say they were able to identify the suspects thanks to facebook pictures and tips.

“Those photos contain pictures of the suspects who we got a hold of here; it was certainly a tool that helped us immensely,” Pelham police Lieutenant Brian McCarthy said. “It’s surprising to me what people post on their Facebook. Believe it or not, people do post themselves committing crimes, and we use that to our advantage.”

Police and the suspects’ parents agreed the teens will rebuild the fence and clean up other damaged areas of the park.
