Plus Sized Lingerie Brand Takes Jibe At Victoria’s Secret Angels With ‘I’m No …

When one thinks of sexy lingerie, one imagines super thin models strutting their stuff on runway. Pictures of supermodels like Cara Delevingne or Alessandra Ambrosio putting on their giant Angel wings for the Victoria’s Secret runway is something one can expect while thinking of seductive lingerie. But there is one lingerie brand that is trying to change the way people look at lingerie. American plus sized lingerie brand Lane Bryant has come out with a very innovative advertisement campaign that not only features curvy women in sexy lingerie but it also takes aim at Victoria’s Secret angel’s thin models.

The brand has shot a sexy ad campaign for their Cacique lingerie range with various plus size models including Ashley Graham, Marquita Pring, Candice Huffine, Victoria Lee, Justine Legault and Elly Mayday. Check out the video below. “I’m No Angel” is the tagline for the campaign that criticises Victoria’s Secret Angels “The Perfect Body” campaign.

“Our #ImNoAngel campaign is designed to empower ALL women to love every part of herself [sic],” Linda Heasley, CEO and President at Lane Bryant is quoted as saying to Metro. “Lane Bryant firmly believes that she is sexy and we want to encourage her to confidently show it, in her own way,” Heasley added. “I’m No Angel” campaign has received phenomenal response on Twitter, especially from women. ‪

“#ImNoAngel‪ is a great hashtag! Well-played, @LaneBryant,” writes ‪@debrabass on Twitter. MTV Style too supported Lane Bryant’s campaign by writing on Twitter that more such campaigns are needed. Another Twitter user @manfattan wrote that “trying to be perfect is a waste of time” for woman. “‪#ImNoAngel and that’s what I love about myself,” she added.

Twitter user ‪@BxtchassAshley has called “I’m No Angel” campaign as the “the best commercial ever” as it stresses on the fact that that “no matter what size you are, you should always love ur body.” “VS has presented a narrow standard of sexiness for too long,” wrote another Twitter user ‪@Curvily. Various plus sized models too have shown their support for this ad campaign.
