Photos: A short history of lingerie

The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology has taken on lingerie and ladies foundation garments as the focus of a new exhibition. In about 70 pieces, “Exposed: A History of Lingerie” touches on the mechanics, marketing and cultural touchstones that not only shape and adorn but helped define culture around the globe. The exhibition runs through Nov. 15.
