Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputy Wrecks Patrol Car, Charged with DUI

Georgia State Patrol reports a Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle was involved in a wreck at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday morning on Georgia Highway 81 at Double Springs Road in Walton County.

According to the trooper, a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department vehicle ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned several times.  In a press release, GSP reported that nobody was around the vehicle when first responders arrived. Barrow Patch has the full story.

Residents Appear Mixed on Powder Springs ZIP Code Change

Residents of Powder Springs and unincorporated Cobb attending a packed town hall meeting Tuesday night appeared split on how they will vote on changing their ZIP code from Hiram’s 30141 to Powder Springs’ 30127.

Lasting an hour and change, the meeting at the Coach Ford Center’s Reception Hall had a much larger attendance than most other public meetings in the city. It became heated at points, with some citizens going back and forth with each other, county and city representatives, and a Postal Service employee about the possible pros and cons of the switch. Lingerie Football League Coming to Gwinnett

The metro Atlanta area will soon become home to another sports team.
