A 45-year-old man has been charged with attempted kidnapping after allegedly trying to abduct a bartender after lingerie night at an Appleton tavern, according to Post-Crescent media.
Dennis Mitchell told police that he went to lingerie night, during which the bartenders dress in lingerie, every Thursday night at the Eager Beaver bar.
Last Thursday, according to a complaint, someone pulled a Walmart bag over the head of a bartender as she left the bar. Several people ran to the sound of her screams and the assailant dropped the bag and ran. The bag had a receipt in it, according to the Post-Crescent, which police used to obtain surveillance footage from Walmart that showed Mitchell at the time of the purchase.
Mitchell acknowledged being at the bar Thursday but denied being part of any altercation. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted.
