Lingerie and denim help Boohoo.com rack up higher sales

Boohoo said that the number of customers who shopped on its platforms over the last year grew by a third to four million, with two thirds of all activity taking place over mobile or tablet devices. 

“We are pleased to report a year of strong revenue growth across all geographic regions,” said joint chief executives Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane. 

“Active customer numbers, order frequency and conversion have all increased on last year as we continue to invest in building customer lifetime value. By refining the mix of promotional and marketing expenditure in each of our key markets, we have achieved growth ahead of our plans.”

Sales in the UK, which accounts for two thirds of the internet retailer’s business, grew by 38pc to £130.1m. Revenue in Europe was boosted by 25pc thanks to the launch of a new website, while markets across the rest of the world brought in 56pc more than last year.
