When most children have to go to work with their parents it means sitting quietly in the corner of an office somewhere, but not for Suri Cruise.

With Tom Cruise as a father and Katie Holmes for a mom, Suri spends more time on film sets then she does playing dolls.

And Thursday night was not exception, with the little girl heading in with her mother to watch the 35-year-old film her new pilot in New York.

Katie has just started filming the new ABC drama and on Thursday had a late after dark start.

Heading to the costume and makeup trailer, the Thank You For Not Smoking star wore a rather risque ensemble.

From afar her flowing maroon and white spot long sleeve shirt looked rather tame, but as she got closer it was evident that the actress’ top was completely sheer revealing her bra.

In addition to the see through top, Katie wore a pair of blue jeans with a subtle leopard print on them, which were ripped at the knee with a pair of tan boots.

The Dawson’s Creek star further accessorised her look with a camouflage print Valentino satchel.

Earlier in the day while out and about around Manhattan, the 25-year-old wore the same ensemble but, perhaps taking tips from singer Pharrell Williams, wore a giant light brown felt hat.

While not quite as big as the hip hop star’s Vivianne Westwood signature hats, Katie’s still demanded attention as it sat atop her brown locks that were styled in soft curls.

Later on in the evening, the curls were gone with Katie pulling her hair back into a bun.

The star did have to make a quick change before filming into a dress, but covered up from the cold in a big black Velvet coat and a pair of ugg boots.

For her set visit, little Suri wore a black velvet dress with a white collar with a cream cardigan over the top.

Making the outfit cute and funky, the seven-year-old wore a big pink bow in her hair with neon pink tights and silver metallic shoes.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Katie’s new show is ‘in the vein of Dangerous Liaisons’.

Penned by Richard LaGravenese the untitled New York set project ‘revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites, Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Rufus Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole, who play out their obsessive attraction and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others’.

Katie’s character is also a powerful player in the well-to-do world. Named Ann, Katie’s character along with her with her husband, runs a philanthropic foundation that helps bring clean water to African villages.
