She’s well known for modelling lingerie and skimpy swimsuits but Marisa Miller is actually ‘very shy,’ the former Victoria’s Secret Angel says.
The California blonde makes the admission in the latest issue of Women’s Health.
Ironically she appears on the cover of the US fitness magazine in a skimpy bikini.
Miller, 33, says: ‘I’m very shy.

‘I know it’s weird for a person who models lingerie and swimsuits, but I don’t like to be the centre of attention.
‘Eighty per cent of the things I do are not natural for my personality.
‘I believe you have to fake it till you make it. Act like you’re confident and you’ll get there.’
Miller also reveals the unusual way she maintains her trim figure – by eating while wearing very little.
‘Eating smart is all about having an awareness of your body,’ says the model who likes to munch on brown rice, quinoa and kale chips.
‘The most obvious way to do that is by seeing it.
‘So when you’re trying to lose weight, spend more time wearing less. I don’t think I could eat a plate of nachos naked – could you?’
Avoiding junk food is a more obvious way she keeps the extra pounds at bay.
Miller – who is married to music producer Griffin Guess – says: ‘When I first met Griffin, I gained 10lbs.
‘When you are falling in love, all you do is make out and eat.’
Now she is a little more disciplined, preferring to indulge in fattening foods occasionally rather than every day.
‘When I do have one of his favourites – like soda or cake – I look at it as a treat and enjoy it,’ Miller says.
‘Because I eat well 90 per cent of the time I don’t feel guilty.’
When it comes to keeping the spark alive in a relationship she recommends playing dress-up in the bedroom.
‘Guys are very visual,’ says Miller who is currently filming her first movie, R.I.P.D with Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds.
‘My job is great, because I come home from work every day made over.
‘So Griffin can get 20 different women in one month.’
That doesn’t mean that their marriage is without its challenges.
Miller describes nipping in the bud one of things that annoyed her about her husband.
‘Griffin used to get busy at work and not pick up the phone. It irritated me,’ she says.
‘Finally I said: “Honey, if I call you in the middle of the day, I’m not going to tell you what colour I painted my nails.
”I need to tell you something [important]‘.
‘Now, even if it’s just for 30 seconds, he’ll pick up and say: ‘Hey, are you OK?”
While the model says she and her husband want ‘a crazy household’ with kids, at the moment they are happy raising their pet dog, an Italian greyhound called Lula.
She says: ‘Our dog has become our child. We take Lula to the beach to run.
‘We potty-trained her, and she sleeps in our bed.
‘She’s the first thing we raised together so that means a lot.’
