Kate Upton may be idolised for her stunningly curvy body, but it turns out the model longs for tinier assets.
The 21-year-old, who shot to fame after gracing the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimwear issue in little more than a coat of paint, admits she thinks about reducing the size of her much talked about bust every day.
“I wish I had smaller boobs every day of my life as I would love to wear spaghetti tops braless or go for the smallest bikini design,” she said in an interview with The Sun.
“Every single day I’m like, ‘Oh man, it would be so much easier’, especially if people didn’t constantly bring them up,” Upton continued.
If only her breasts were like clip-on earrings, she mused. Then she could take them off at the end of the day!
Despite these claims, Upton acknowledges “the grass is always greener” and added that although she’d prefer smaller breasts, she’s still proud of what she’s got.
“I love my boobs and I’m proud of my size. That’s an important message to young girls – love who you are and be proud of who you are.”
Hmmm, which is it Kate?
Although Upton has now appeared on the cover of countless magazines, including heavyweight titles such as Vogue, Elle and Vanity Fair, her glamorous look was famously dissed back in 2012.
When asked if Upton’s rocketing popularity could land her a coveted spot on the Victoria’s Secret runway, Sophia Neophitou, who casts the shows, sniffed that her look was “too obvious,” adding that they would “never use her”.
“She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy,” Neophitou said to the New York Times.
Two years on and with considerable success under her belt, Upton recently responded to the comments, telling V magazine the snarky comments were her “introduction to being in the spotlight and having people you’ve never met have an opinion of you.”
One thing’s for sure – clearly one lingerie executive’s opinions haven’t held Upton back.
The model is now transitioning into acting, with a role in the upcoming film, The Other Woman alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.
