Eva Green and Her Breasts Got Movie Poster Banned

Actress Eva Green and her breasts are so hot, they apparently were the reason a movie poster for Sin City: A Dame to Kill was banned in the United States. A controversial movie poster for the upcoming Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino directed movie, Sin City: A Dame to Kill (Dimension Films), depicting the breasts and nipples of actress Eva Green as seen through a sheer gown or robe, has been banned by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for too much “nudity.” That’s despite the fact that the nudity is actually more suggested than real, as you can see for yourselves in the poster, below.

According to Entertainment Weekly.com and several other sources, the poster was banned because it depicts –or, rather, hints at — the breasts of actress Eva Green, as seen through a sheer gown she’s wearing, showing “under breast and dark nipple/areola circle” through the material of the gown.

In other words, though the poster is somewhat racy and was banned, you can likely see racier images of semi-clad women in a Sears or Victoria Secret catalog advertising lingerie, or on the cover and within the pages of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill (Dimension Films) is the sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City (2005). Dimension Films, the distributor of both movies, has not issued a statement regarding the controversial movie poster. They did say, though, that the poster depicting Eva Green, who also co-starred in Casino Royale (2006) as HM Treasury agent Vesper Lynd, is being reworked and tweaked. The crime noir movie, which also features the stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba as the stripper Nancy Callahan, will hit theaters August 22, 2014.

Eva Green stars as Ava Lord in the upcoming flick. Like Sin City, Sin City: A Dame to Kill is based upon a series of graphic novels by Frank Miller. In the poster, Eva is shown brandishing a gun, looking prepared for either s romantic encounter, a gangland shootout, or both.

Eva Green Poster Compared to Nudity in Frank Miller’s Sin City Comics

Though Eva Green strikes a sexy pose in the poster for Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill, the poster is pretty tame in comparison to the nudity depicted in the Sin City comics the series of movies is based upon. In the comics, Ava is shown as being naked pretty frequently. The violence in the comics is also, generally speaking, more graphic than that in the Sin City movies, which shows — besides the usual stabbings and shootings — even eyes being ripped out.  Eva Green and Her Breasts Got Movie Poster Banned

Sin City: A Dame to Kill has not yet received a rating. Frank Miller and his collaborators, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, worked with the MPAA to bring down the rating of Sin City to an R from a NC-17, by stylizing the violence. That is probably what they will also be doing with the sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill.

Other stars set to return in the thriller Sin City: A Dame to Kill include Rosario Duncan and Bruce Willis, and the flick will also feature the stars Ray Liotta, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, and Jaime King.

Is Eva Green just too sexy to appear on a poster? That depends on your definition of “sexy.” She apparently revealed enough of her notable assets to have the poster she graces for Sin City: A Dame to Kill banned. What do you think of the poster? Do you think it reveals too much of her breasts, and that the MPAA acted correctly in prohibiting it; or, do you think they were being prudish, and went too far? Please leave your comments below!
