The loom band craze that has swept Britain has taken a new sexy twist – with a mum producing LINGERIE out of the popular playground toy.

Claire Davis, from Warrington, Cheshire, used 24,000 loom bands to make a sexy two piece set – a creation that took a patience-testing four weeks to complete.

And the 30-year-old – who is trying to raise £25,000 to save her beauty salon, Flawless – has sent out desperate pleas to celebs like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga in the hope that they will buy the frock.

She said: “I’m a single mum and I’ve not got that kind of money hanging around but I can’t bear to lose my shop and I have four staff working for me who would lose their jobs as well.

“My daughter Courtney and her friends were always making things with loom bands and that’s where the idea came from.

“Like many people, I saw the story about the girl who sold a loom band dress for £170,000 on eBay and I thought I’d give it a try myself.”

Claire, Courtney and her best friend Rebecca Lamberth, both aged 10, spent hours looping together enough loom bands in four different shades of purple and black to make the bra top and matching skirt.

They then stitched it together and embellished it with diamantes.

Claire added: “My daughter and her friend love Miley and Lady Gaga and it would be their dream to see them in it.”

Mini skirt: It spent hours to make

“While it has been fun to make, for me, it really would mean so much if I could raise the money I need to save my business, so I just hope someone out there hears my story and likes the dress enough to spend that amount of money on it.

“I know it is a huge ask, but I guess to someone like Miley it’s a drop in the ocean!”

With one day left to go on the auction site, Claire’s creation had attracted 26 bids – but at the time of writing the high bid was just £35.

Elsewhere on eBay, other loom band tailors are attempting to lure the big bids with creations including a loom band dress listed for a bank-busting £2,500.
