Premier airline British Airways has released a new Facebook app that allows its users to plan the perfect day in a wide variety of holiday destinations around the world.

The principle is that users who have already been on city breaks and holidays to the likes of New York, San Francisco, the Caribbean, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid will help people who are deciding where to go by positing tips, hints and personal experiences based on their own travels. Then everyone who uses the app will have some valuable insight into what to expect from a great selection of destinations.

Tip-giving isn’t just limited to BA passengers, the staff will also be getting involved, added their considerable knowledge and expertise to help users find their ideal holiday break. The app will feature tips sorted into different themes that cover the shopping, dining out, entertainment and all the other essential areas of a good holiday destination.

Digital marketing innovation manager Richard Bowden said that he was looking forward to getting feedback on this trial version of the app. The release of Perfect Days has shown that BA is more focused than ever before on establishing a dialogue with its customers by encouraging them to share their holiday experiences through social media.

As more people contribute their findings through the app, Perfect Days will grow to include real holidaymakers’ opinions and tips on how to get the most out of holidays to the USA, France, Egypt, the Caribbean, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Brazil, India and many more locations.

Foodily Brings Recipe Sharing and Cooking Tips to Facebook

Foodily Brings Recipe Sharing and Cooking Tips to FacebookPreviously mentioned recipe search site Foodily launched a new Facebook app today that embeds the service’s recipe search engine and sharing tools right in your Facebook stream.

Foodily’s new Facebook app allows you to use the service’s search engine without leaving Facebook, and to share recipes that you find with Facebook friends. You can search by ingredient, type of cuisine, or dish, and you can still “like” recipes and post them to your wall. The app brings all of those features to you and lets you connect with other friends using the app to share and discuss recipes, instead of making you go to Foodily to use them.

Foodily wants to encourage Facebook friends to connect and talk about the recipes they find using the app. If you spend all of your time on Facebook, the app may help you figure out what to make for dinner and get input from your foodie friends in the process.
