More than half of people in the UK have attempted to win back a former partner by buying them a gift of some sort.

And nearly two thirds of those (62 per cent) said it worked a treat in rekindling a romantic relationship.

It’s mostly men who prefer to use this tactic, with 41 per cent of those polled choosing the gift of flowers. Three-quarters of women, on the other hand, have ditched the idea of a gift and instead used sex in an attempt to get back with their ex partner.

Just a quarter of men have tried to seduce a former partner in the bedroom to get them back.

More than a third (36 per cent) of men have played hard to get to win back an ex, while two thirds (64 per cent) of women have done the same.

Despite sex games being a popular tactic the new research shows that the majority of British people feel that giving a gift is the best way to win back an ex.

The most common gifts given by men
included flowers, jewellery and lingerie, whilst women were more likely
to give men sports/music tickets, clothes or games consoles.

Researchers polled a total of 1,927 people, aged 18 and over, split evenly between the sexes.

All participants taking part in the research by findmeagift.co.uk had admitted to having previous long-term relationships and then subsequently attempted to win their ex-partners back.

Individuals were initially asked to disclose the various ways in which they had attempted to win back their former lovers.

In order
to assess how successful a gifting approach is when attempting to repair
a broken relationship, respondents who had given a gift were asked: ‘Did you get back
together with your ex-partner after giving them a gift?’

More than two thirds said they had and the researchers then compiled a list of the top five gifts
that men and women had bought to win their former partners back.

The most common methods used to try and win back an ex-partner

1. Gifts/presents/tokens of love – 54 per cent (58 per cent men, 42 per cent women)

2. Offering sex – 37 per cent (24 per cent men, 76 per cent women)

3. Playing hard to get – 31 per cent (36 per cent men, 64 per cent women)

4. Making ex-partner jealous – 23 per cent (55 per cent men, 45 per cent women)

5. Attempting to get ex-partner drunk – 14 per cent (48 per cent men, 52 per cent women)

I have never squandered money on flowers for a woman, it’s very simple if a woman really loves you she does not need to be brought as there is a word for that. We are in 2014 and full equality rocks. Women do not generally buy flowers for a man so why on earth should a man do these things from a time gone by. Fair minded women will agree that equality must cover “all” areas, not just were it benefits them.

Sex is a misdemeanor. The more you miss it the meaner you get! Still not worth getting back with an ex though. It was trouble then and will be again. New problems are more interesting to deal with.

I can’t resist, while standing in line behind someone buying, “flowers” to ask them, “you do know those are dead don’t you”? Their looks should be caught on camera, if they respond, the retort of, ” sorry I just can’t comprehend why anyone would want to purchase the dead sexual organs of plants” the cashiers veiled reaction is sometimes even better, makes going to the store entertaining.
Then you get the males buying them for the other half as they were in a bad mood, which only encourages them to have another bad mood to be rewarded again with further bundles of dead sexual organs of plants,
Sorry but think its time to get off this dumd-ass chunk of clay.

NSA leaker Edward Snowden calls himself a ‘patriot’

SALESOUT NARCH EUO 3TPREUTERS Edward Snowden says he may not be able to travel but at least he can sleep at night.

Serial security leaker Edward Snowden is a free American who can’t come home — but he sleeps with a clear conscience.

“I may have lost my ability to travel,” Snowden said in a Moscow interview with NBC anchor Brian Williams that aired Wednesday in New York.

“But I’ve gained the ability to go to sleep at night and to put my head on the pillow and feel comfortable that I’ve done the right thing, even when it was the hard thing,” the 30-year-old former national security analyst said.

Yet in the next breath, the self-declared “patriot” confessed to missing his family and his country.

“I don’t think there’s ever been any question that I’d like to go home . . . If I could go anywhere in the world, that place would be home,” he said wistfully.

The North Carolinian, who sparked a global furor over U.S. surveillance techniques after leaking a massive trove of National Security Agency documents, told Williams he’s being punished for his patriotism.

“Being a patriot means knowing when to protect your country, knowing when to protect your Constitution . . . Adversaries don’t have to be foreign countries. They . . . can be bad policies. They can be officials who, you know, need a little bit more accountability,” he said.

Snowden claimed to have been a CIA spy at one time and an undercover operative overseas for the NSA — assertions that National Security Adviser Susan Rice denied in an interview with CNN.

Snowden also reassured Williams he’s not a pawn to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who granted him asylum for a year.

Snowden insisted he’d destroyed most of his stolen material before entering Russia and said he couldn’t even access it online.

He said the NSA wouldn’t know how many documents he’d taken, anyway.

“Their auditing was so poor, so negligent, that any private contractor, not even an employee of the government, could walk into the NSA building, take whatever they wanted, and walk out with it and they would never know,” he said.

Snowden made clear that an offer of clemency or amnesty from the U.S. would be warmly received.

“If Mr. Snowden wants to come back . . . we’ll have him on a flight today,” Secretary of State Kerry told the “Today” show of the man he labeled a “fugitive.”
