With her long brown and blonde tresses piled high up on her head in a chic bun, and with her sunglasses and red lipstick firmly in place, she looked the epitome of Riviera chic, despite being on one of the Canary Islands.

However, despite her aesthetically-pleasing appearance, Ferne looked a bit glum as she got set for filming for the day.

This could be down to the fact she’s missing her boyfriend Charlie Sims: on Monday evening, shortly after the group had landed on the island, she tweeted that she was longing for him.

‘First night in tenerife with the girls and missing this one already…’ she posted on her Twitter page, along with a snap of her handsome man.

Also on the island were her co-stars Gemma Collins, Lydia Bright, Bobby Norris, Jessica Wright, Chloe Sims, Lauren Pope, Danielle Armstrong, Vas Morgan and new mum Billie Faiers, who brought her daughter Nelly along for the getaway.

They were filming the opening special extra-long episode of the brand new series, which will air later in February.

And although the episode is set to be a ‘girl’s holiday’, there will be scenes set in Essex so viewers will get a chance to see their favourite male stars… aside from Bobby and Vas in Tenerife, who tagged along on the girly trip.

Billie, 25, looked sweet in a multicoloured zig-zag striped kaftan as she pushed her little girl Nelly along in her pram while her mother had also joined the group.

Lydia, 25, didn’t waste time in getting into her swimwear for the day, and getting down to some serious sunbathing business. 

The fashion-conscious star revealed her slim and shapely frame in a bright orange one-piece swimsuit, decorated with funky cartoon flowers.

The swimming costume included a rather racy and sunbathing-friendly plunging neckline, with a thin strap across her chest to keep her cleavage in place.

She looked effortlessly gorgeous and glamorous as she posed on her sun-lounger next to the pool at their hotel, her dark blonde locks pushed back off her face by her large sunglasses.

And she didn’t cover up when she sat down at a table to have a chat with her colleagues and friends Gemma Collins, Jessica Wright and Bobby Norris, choosing to stay in her striking little item, despite the rather overcast day and relatively mild 17°C temperature.

Bubbly blonde Gemma cut an eye-catching figure as she made her way down for filming, wearing a matching floral top and bottoms, complete with tiny pom-poms down the side of the t-shirt.

The pink, blue, orange and white co-ordinated ensemble highlighted her newly-slimline figure: she recently lost two stone in weight, and it shows.

Ever the glamorous maven, the 34-year-old opted for towering red wedge sandals, a pink patterned beach bag and oversized dazzling earrings.

She kept her famous blonde locks loose and wavy, looking pretty thanks to her obvious good mood.

It was no doubt an exciting day of filming for the cast of TOWIE, which ended towards the end of 2014 with the special Christmas episode, The Only Way Is Essexmas.

The Essex-based bunch had embarked on a slightly less glamorous getaway for the one-off show, getting on a ship from Dover to Calais for a booze cruise to stock up on alcohol for the Christmas party.

So it’s no wonder the stunning cast members all looked to be in a collective good mood as they set to work in front of the cameras for the upcoming series.

Jessica Wright looked a treat in her lingerie-inspired navy swimsuit which, like Lydia’s, also included a plunging neckline.

But she covered her shoulders in a sheer tan-coloured kaftan-style garment as she chatted to her TOWIE friends.

And, while it appeared the bold and brave Bobby Norris was sat down at their table completely stark naked, he was in fact wearing a version of his famous beach ‘outfit’, which comprises of a sock-style garment worn over his nether region.

Elsewhere on location, Lauren Pope caught up with her co-stars Chloe Sims and Danielle Armstrong to film their own scene.

Chloe went for all-out retro glamour with her elegant powder blue and lemon yellow draped cover-up.

The 32-year-old teamed the beautiful, flowing item with a matching headband, invoking an old Hollywood-era vibe.

Underneath she wore a simple white bikini, but was seen covering up in-between takes for the show in a large cosy hoodie during a particularly windy moment.

Lauren, 32, meanwhile went for a blue swimsuit – seen when she took a brief sunbathing spell next to Lydia – but had covered up in what appeared to be a long white shirt for her scene with Chloe and Danielle, during which they all sipped on white wine.

And blonde beauty Danielle, 26, decided to go for all-black for her poolside jaunt, revealing her tanned limbs under her sheer, long garment as she reclined on a sunlounger.

The cast had arrived in Tenerife on Monday from the UK, all of them looking ready for action ahead of filming for the 14th series of the hit ITVBe reality show.

While all appeared to be going rather peacefully between the co-stars on Tuesday, there’ll no doubt be some tempers flaring and some fights under the sun’s rays, as is to be expected on the popular programme.

As they got set to land at the local airport the day before, Gemma took to Twitter to let her fans know they’d arrived.

She tweeted: ‘On the plane woo hoo tenerife baby here we come #TOWIE #EssexComesToTenerife.’

The new series will be broadcast soon on reality channel ITVBe.
