Have you ever wondered what made Victoria’s Secret a multibillion lingerie empire? Aside from its signature sexy apparel, its roster of top supermodels also help boost the company’s annual sales.

Victoria’s Secret is known for being extremely meticulous in choosing the models who represent the brand, particularly those the company labeled as its “Angels.” As a matter of fact, models should have the appeal to lure other women and not to threaten or turn off potential customers.

“The merchants drive the decisions on the Angels,” DNA Model Management Richard Habberly told Women’s Wear Daily. “They [Victoria's Secret] try the girls out, and certain girls sell product. They’re women that appeal to other women. And they’re special because they never appear in men’s magazines. Once you start to do that, they become threatening [to potential female customers].”

Since Victoria’s Secret wants customers to like the models it features, top models Miranda Kerr and Erin Heatherton were booted out for reportedly not selling enough lingerie, not to mention their personal dramas.

Kate Upton, on the other hand, was rejected due to her incessant sexy pictorials and commercials that made executives believed she wouldn’t appeal to female customers.

Speaking of top models, here are the top 10 young models who work for Victoria’s Secret Pink line that exude the potentials to be future spokeswomen of the retail company, as Business Insider listed.

While VS Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge have remained with the brand, the company added 10 new models to their “Angels” roster in 2015. And here are Victoria’s Secrets newest Angels:

Meanwhile, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so Vogue magazine caught up with VS Angels Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima to ask them about their V-Day standards.

During the interview, the Brazilian supermodels revealed their Valentine’s Day tips, dos and don’ts, favorite lingerie color, wish lists as well as their Valentine. But the most interesting were the models’ responses when asked why V-Day is important.

“I think we should express our love for each other every other day. But Valentine’s gives you a reminder to do that,” Ambrosio said. While Lima answered, “I personally think you should show your loved ones you care every day. Even if it is something small, try and show them. I think this holiday allows you to go the extra mile.”

Coronation Street spoilers: Chesney Brown’s dismay as Sinead Tinker becomes a lingerie model

Chesney Brown is rarely seen with a smile on his chops but you’d think he’d at least feign a bit of joy when his girlfriend Sinead Tinker finds some success.

Nah, he’s opting for the good old jealousy instead. As Sinead is overjoyed by her new found confidence after modelling underwear for a photoshoot organised by Underworld, Ches is left feeling uncomfortable. But will his lack of support end up driving Sinead away?

Beth, meanwhile, is full of encouragement for her niece as she anxiously anticipates her assignment for the factory. And on the day of the photo shoot, she is desperate for Chesney to attend for moral support.

Uneasy, he takes some persuading and he is left sullen when Sinead shows her skills and impresses the O’Driscolls and her own boss Aidan Connor with her modelling.

Sinead is delighted when the photographer then offers her another job modelling for a catalogue. But while the boost is what Sinead needs to find some ambition and purpose, Chesney couldn’t be less happy with her potential new career direction.

When the photos are released, Sinead is forced to do a double take, unable to believe that it is actually her looking back from the images.

As all of her friends congratulate her and get excited for her new work she has already lined up, Chesney struggles to bury his jealousy.
