WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump on Friday said he would leave to his chief of staff the decision of whether to grant a security-clearance waiver to Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser and his son-in-law.
Asked whether he would grant a waiver to Mr. Kushner, who holds an interim security clearance more than 13 months into his tenure in the administration, Mr. Trump said, “I’m going to let General Kelly make that decision, and he’s going to do what’s right for country. And I have no doubt he will make the right decision.”

Trump administration hits North Korea with more sanctions

The new sanctions target 28 vessels located or registered in countries as far removed as North Korea, China, Tanzania and Panama. Satellite imagery purportedly show North Korean vessels conducting ship-to-ship transfers of oil, coal and refined petroleum products with vessels under foreign flags, to circumvent U.N. sanctions prohibiting such practices.
