According to Missouri Senate Bill 54,
just signed by state Governor Jay Nixon, any social networking is
prohibited between teachers and students. This includes not only
Facebook, but any social network “that is exclusive and allows for
private communication,” according to ABC News.

How did this measure come about? Mashable notes
that “inappropriate contact between students and teachers is at the
root of the legislation,” which is “designed to protect children from
sexual misconduct by teachers, compelling school districts to adopt
written policies between teachers and students on electronic media,
social networking and other forms of communication.”

So how has this been received? The law certainly seems to give the
peculiar message that teachers are not to be trusted. Mashable reacts
that “on the surface this sounds like a good idea,” although they
question how it would be policed: “Inappropriate relationships will be
hard to detect, especially since teachers and students engaged in such
relationships would probably be concealing their communications,
electronic or otherwise.” Well if we learned anything from Weiner, it’s
to never underestimate how sloppy adults are when concealing
inappropriate behavior online. So perhaps even these rudimentary
precautions may be preventative?

Facebook Launches Its “Facebook For Business” Portal

Facebook now launches its newest feature: “Facebook for Business”. This is ahead of Google+ innovation. The two competitors in the social network world of business are heading for a one-on-one battle to entice more people to join their social networking sites.

Facebook Unveils Facebook For Business

The Facebook for Business  portal was introduced earlier this week. However, the title doesn’t match a feature or a set-up for a business related site. Facebook for Business is just a small portal that Facebook created to let other companies access the social networking site. The portal also intends to maximize the business’s existence on Facebook.

What Does Facebook For Business Portal Do?

According to a Facebook representative, the Facebook for Portals works to attract customers on the Web to stores. The Facebook representative went on by saying that the business will be able to learn how to find new customers before they search for them using Facebook’s target Ads. Through Facebook for Business, small businesses will be inspired upon seeing how other businesses have found success on Facebook by just sharing their stories.

Facebook Offers Guide To New Users

Facebook offers a five-page guide to new users of Facebook for Business. The guide covers every detail of its use from the general overview of the relationship between businesses and Facebook pages. It includes categorical and step by step instruction for helping new users to set-up their respective companies in Facebook. According to reviews, the navigation is easy, quick, powerful and user-friendly. This will not hinder any companies in setting up their accounts with the Facebook for Business portal.

Facebook Versus Google+

The launching of Facebook’s new portal is no doubt to compete with its head-on competitor, Google +. Presently, Google plus is facing difficulties in addressing the demand of its users in terms of business advertisements in their networking site. Some businesses were even banned from the network, reports said. Because of this, Google plus faces many criticisms from its users.

In this article you learned that Facebook has launched its newest “Facebook for Business” Portal. This is Facebook’s latest innovation to counter the Google+ feature in business advertising. According to reviews, the navigation is easy, quick, powerful and user-friendly. Facebook offers a five-page guide on how to use the Facebook for Business portal.
