What to buy in June: Lingerie, fitness apparel, laptops, tools and more

If you’re looking to save money this summer, you need to be strategic about where you shop and how you do it. Thankfully, there’s an optimal time of year to buy nearly everything on your must-have list. From fitness apparel to dishes, here is a breakdown of the best items to stock up on in June.

Lingerie

As mercury rises, chances are you’ll be showing more skin. The good news? June is a great time of year to trade in your old undergarments and upgrade your fitness gear. Here’s where you can get some good deals:

Macy’s: From June 1 to 8, take advantage of Macy’s “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” sale on select Jenni Sleepwear. You can also score $50 off every $100 purchase of Heidi by Heidi Klum Intimates.

Kohl’s: Select Apt. 9 lingerie items (robes, chemise, pajama sets, etc) are 30 percent off from May 29 to June 3.

Target: You should replace your bras every six to 12 months, so stock up when the price is right. Target is offering 15 to 20 percent off Xhilaration and Gilligan O’Malley bras during the week of May 29. Prices range from $8-$12.

JCPenney: Bras from Maidenform, Ambrielle, Vanity Fair, Bali and Playtext are “Buy 1 Get 1 for 1 cent” from June 9 to 11.

Fitness apparel

Macy’s: Ideology Activewear (tank tops, tees, shorts and leggings) are 40 percent off and Nike running shorts are on sale for $24.99 from June 1 to June 8.

Gaiam.com: Flash deals mean major savings and on May 31, all full-priced yoga and fitness apparel are 20 percent off.

Dick’s Sporting Goods: From June 6 to 11, select men’s and women’s Nike T-shirts, tanks and shorts will be up to 20 percent off.

Pots, pans and dishware

Wedding season is in full swing in June and because of this, many stores discount their pots, pans and dishware this time of year. Even if you’re not tying the knot, this is a great time of year to stock up on cooking essentials.

Macy’s: Love to bake? Enameled cast iron casseroles by the Martha Stewart Collection are 50 percent off and dinnerware, serveware and glassware from The Cellar is 40 percent off from June 1 to June 8.

JCPenney: From June 5 to 7, JCPenney is offering 30 to 50 percent off select styles of cookware and dishware. Notable buys include the Cooks 12-piece Stainless Steel cookware set and the 16-piece dinnerware set from Quinto.

William-Sonoma: All William-Sonoma brand cookware is currently 20 percent off, so stock up while supplies last.

Laptops and small electronics

Even though kids are out of school for the summer, you can get a jumpstart on the back-to-school shopping season by buying laptops and small electronics now.

Best Buy: You can save $150 off the Microsoft Surface Book 2-in-1 Touch-Screen Laptop and $100 off the Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 Touch Screen laptop. Plus, select Apple Watch models are up $200 off.

Target: Bose headphones (both the In-Ear SoundSport and SoundLink versions) are $30 off during the week of May 29.

Kmart: Perfect for travel and road trips, select portable DVD players from Sylvania are 20 percent off from May 21 to July 4.

Movie tickets

When school’s out, hitting the local theater is a great way to keep kids cool and entertained. Every summer, a handful of theaters offer summer promotions for kids and their adult companions. Here are some great deals for the movie-lover in your life:

Popcorn and movie ticketsFeaturepics

Regal: The Summer Movie Express gives kids and adults a chance to see select summer flicks for just a buck. The 10 a.m. movie showings take place every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cinemark: Adults and kids can view G and PG movies for $1 at Cinemark’s Summer Movie Clubhouse.

Harkins Theaters: Harkins is once again hosting its annual Summer Movie Fun program for kids. Kids and adults can enjoy one PG or G movie a week for 10 weeks at less than $1 per film.

Christine is no stranger to keeping in shape during and after pregnancy, and has admitted that she likes the bigger boobs that come with the experience.

She increased her bust size from a 32D to a 32E after giving birth to her twins Penelope and Leo in 2013. 

She told the Daily Star: ‘They went huge while I was pregnant. I loved them, I loved having big boobs. But then I had the twins and every day my boobs were just disappearing.

‘I couldn’t wait to get them back so I had surgery. I wanted them to look big but not too fake and I think I got what I wanted.

‘I went bigger than I was before, but I’m happy with them and my husband’s happy with them, so that’s what’s important.’
