A woman who works as an exotic dancer had her kids taken away after she was accused of shoplifting lingerie for her job.
Ashley Fleischmann, 24, of Orlando faces charges of petty theft-retail and cruelty toward a child. She was arrested Friday after allegedly shoplifting several items from a Burlington Coat Factory store on East Colonial Drive.
Her two young children were with her in the store at the time.
Store security personnel spotted Fleischmann taking items without payment, and detained her for questioning.
Fleischmann said she had taken the items, primarily lingerie, to wear at her job as a dancer at Crystal Cabaret Gentleman’s Club on Orange Blossom Trail.
According to her arrest affidavit, Fleischmann “planned to use her children in the commission of the … crime” and that she had hoped the presence of her children would keep her from getting arrested.
The two children were handed over to the Florida Department of Children and Families.
According to her arrest report, Fleischmann told investigators she’d only gotten custody of the children one week earlier, and she “couldn’t believe this was happening again.”

A lingerie set once worn by Kylie Minogue has fetched STG5000 ($A7850) at an auction in London.
The red silk La Perla intimates had been expected to go under the hammer for as much as STG4000, but bidding quickly sailed past that figure at the Christie’s sale.
Minogue wore the ensemble during a photoshoot for the 2012 Study Vox Foundation charity calendar.
The red bustier with lace trim and red silk and tulle body, accompanied by a signed copy of the Kylie 2012 Official Calendar, was bought by an unnamed fan.
‘Thx (thanks) to the mystery buyer!!! WOW! So thrilled and for a great cause,’ Minogue tweeted on Tuesday.
