When it comes to bras and briefs for fuller figured women New Look has it covered. It now stocks a collection of flattering lingerie from Curvy Kate as part of its plus size clothing range.

Curvy Kate fits in seamlessly with New Look’s view on plus size fashion: it combines fashion with comfort, offering support and structure but giving women the chance to show off their killer curves.

One look at Curvy Kate’s range will leave you in no doubt as to why this lingerie brand for cup sizes D-K has won many awards.

New Look gives an insight into this new brand range with top picks on what to buy now.

Offering support, shape and style for sizes 32H to 38G Curvy Kate’s Portia Black Spot Ribbon Bra, meets the needs of all curvy fashionistas.

This black lacy bra has cute and sultry pink ribbon detail over the top of the bust and lace trim. The clever, built-in support helps show off those killer curves without compromising on function and comfort. Short or thong style briefs are also available to match this bra.

Balcony bras always give the right amount of uplift and an enviable shape. This style of bra has to be one of the sexiest and the Curvy Kate Princess Oatmeal Spot Balcony Bra is no exception.

This bra comes in sizes 36HH to 38G with short or thong style briefs to match. The delicate bow detailing and lacy trim along with subtle spotty pattern and narrow straps make this bra simply adorable. The nude colour is also perfect for summer as you can get away with wearing sheer blouses and light coloured dresses.

New Look’s final ‘hot pick’ from the Curvy Kate collection is another balcony bra but this one has a little more lift. The Curvy Kate Daily Boost Plain White Balcony Bra for is the ideal choice for casual wear. The smooth fabric leaves no visible lines so this bra works with t-shirts and tight vests and dresses. It comes in sizes 34H to 38G in a pure white colour with peach trim. Matching plain white briefs finish off this casual look.

Young Welsh underwear designer wins job with top US firm …

Hannah Thomas need no longer keep her talent under wraps – after being discovered by top fashion brand Abercrombie and Fitch.

The 22-year-old, from the village of Lydart near Monmouth, is to start work for the US retailer this autumn after she impressed the upmarket chain with her lingerie designs.

Hannah, whose parents moved to Wales from Buckinghamshire four years ago, is in the final weeks of her Contour Fashion degree at De Montfort University in Leicester.

The course, which specialises in lingerie, corsetry and swimwear, is the only such course in the world and only offers places to a small number of students.

Hannah’s interest in lingerie began aged 17 when she took a job as a bra-fitter at House of Fraser’s flagship store in Buckinghamshire, but since then has worked on placements at major labels such as River Island and Agent Provacateur.

Her ambition has also seen her fly to Hong Kong to spend a summer at Hong Kong Polytechnic working as a design assistant at a lingerie company.

And her new role comes after she took part in a challenge by the popular American company to design an underwear collection aimed at young women.

To land the post, Hannah had to go through a rigorous round of interviews, including some in America and is now looking forward to starting her two-year contract, designing new lines at the head office of the firm in Ohio.

“Abercrombie and Fitch is such an iconic brand,” Hannah told Wales on Sunday.

“When you walk in the shop, it’s not like any other shop you’ve ever walked into.

“It’s a great company, and so far it seems like an extension of university.

“It’s young and fun and everyone’s been really lovely.”

The company, who employ ‘models’ in their stores to appeal to their young customers, will give Hannah two weeks training.

“They’re an American casual brand and they love detail,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to adding unique twists while still keeping with the brand.”

Hannah’s final university collection was showcased at the university’s contour fashion show in London last week and hinted at the kind of look the label could expect from the young graduate.

“I love really soft fabrics, you wear lingerie so close to the body so it has to be,” she said.

“I used lace in scallop and eyelash edge with black, copper and a metallic sheen.

“There was velvet because I think it’s so decadent, and lots of lightweight chiffon – I love the way it moves.”

Charnos is also making a collection of her shapewear – it’s now being made in Thailand and due to be on the shelves by winter and Hannah says she is looking forward to adding to the growing amount of choice in women’s lingerie.

“The market has really grown, but the average woman still doesn’t know about the products out there,” she said.

“I love designing for all shapes and sizes.

“In lingerie, you need curves.”

Hannah is now looking forward to spending some time at home in Wales “it’s so relaxing and such a contrast from the madness of university,” before flying out to the states to begin her career this October.

“I’d love to start my own label one day,” she said.

“But of course I’ve just started and I have student loans to pay off!

“One day I’d love to see someone like Lady Gaga or Rihanna wearing my work.”
