SINCE opening its doors nearly three years ago, Vérité Louise has styled and fitted nearly 2,000 Cotswold women into their perfect lingerie.

Boutique owner Verity Symcox is just 25 years old and already runs two successful businesses.

  1. Verity Symcox

  2. Verite Louise

  3. Some of the lingerie on offer

What sets her apart is her dedication to finding the right underwear for the women of Cheltenham.

Trained to style lingerie in the manner of Rigby and Pellar, the Queen’s corsetieres, Verity says comfort is one of the most important elements of modern fitting and styling.

Vérité Louise opened in Montpellier in November 2009 and specialises in lingerie, swimwear, nightwear and hosiery, stocking brands such as Chantelle, Empreinte, Barbara and Selina.

She also runs KnickerBockers in Nailsworth.

And she is destined to become the head of an underwear empire.

She said: “I would love to have four more shops however retail has changed so much since 2009, it is a lot tougher than it was back then.”

Verity chose to open her independent boutique in the Montpellier area, known for its upmarket shopping, bars and beautiful park.

She said: “We have made a mark on Cheltenham and the shop has got a very loyal following, especially because of the fit of the underwear.

“Montpellier has good days and bad days and passing trade is a bit more up and down but we are doing well.”

Before setting up on her own Verity worked in various fashion boutiques before venturing out on her own with KnickerBockers.

One of her previous employers was her mother, Wendy, who is also a trained lingerie stylist.

Wendy opened the Knickerbockers store four years ago, which Verity worked in and ran, until taking over the business wholesale in January 2009.

After opening her solo venture, Verity has since gone on to win various regional business awards and been nominated for national honours. Every single customer is offered a free, bespoke fitting service to ensure they have the right shape, style and size.

And the shop caters for all price ranges.

She said: “It is much more complicated than trying on clothes.

“More than 70 per cent of the female population are wearing the wrong size.

“It is so rewarding when you get somebody in the shop who is body conscious and quite shy and just by changing the bra size, which is so simple, you can suddenly give them so much confidence.”

She added: “The benefit of being an independent shop too is that you get to know your customers and provide a very personal service.

“I am not stuffy at all and I like to be personable and honest.

“If something doesn’t look right I will tell the customer.”

Vérité Louise is situated at 12 The Courtyard and is open Monday to Saturday 10am until 5pm.

MIAMI, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ –
The public display of lingerie has style experts split into two camps. Some feel it’s a sexy fashion statement and others say it’s a definite style faux pas. This week, a new designer line called Le BraZees renders the issue settled. Ladies…your public display of lingerie is finally O.K.

Le BraZees are an elastic strap design embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls. Women simply replace cloth bra straps on their existing lingerie with BraZees straps. The website shows how easy BraZees slip into existing fabric loops on convertible, strapless and conventional bra styles. With over 20 dazzling designs, BraZees provide support and style. They add a touch of elegance to off-the-shoulder, solid and sheer asymmetrical casual tops and formal attire.

Le BraZees’ patented new design has never been seen before in the fashion industry and is set to raise the bar on women’s fashion accessories by eliminating the traditionally unflattering cloth or heavily jeweled, gaudy bra straps.

The Le BraZees product line was created by Spanish designer Marta Silvestre, who has been an artist and fashion designer in Europe and Latin America for more than 20 years. The daughter of the prominent Spanish painter Amando Silvestre, Marta grew up on the Mediterranean in an artistic family. She is influenced not only by the numerous artistic styles and techniques of her late father’s work, but by fashion trends emanating from the rest of Europe and the Americas. It was during her world travels that she recognized the need for a functional accessory line that is subtle yet elegant without being overbearing. This line merges artistic influences from her travels in Europe, Mexico and South America.

Women of any age can choose between the sleek Ibiza, Barcelona and Valencia Collections which include unique Swarovski crystal and pearl designs or choose from the Madrid Collection’s unique Essential and Night metal bead designs.

Don’t play peek-a-boo with unsightly bra straps. Regardless of preference, Marta Silvestre truly believes that the hundreds of satisfied clients cannot be wrong in their love for this new line of bra straps. Prices start at $20. Visit
