Health Controversy: Am I The Only One Who’s a Little Horrified By These Get …

Recently, FitCeleb featured some tips from Victoria’s Secret models–the things they do prior to a big runway event, and sometimes throughout the year, to get their bods in perfect shape. And honestly, I was so appalled by the extreme diet measures that I think it’s valuable to call it out, in case anyone out there actually thinks this is normal. Because, girls, it’s not.
Candace Swanepoel limits her food intake to tiny portions. She says she’ll only eat meals that fit into the palm of her hand (yep, hardly anything).
Adriana Lima, works out twice a day (twice) and then in the few weeks that lead up to the annual Victoria’s Secret runway event, she switches to an all-liquid diet (just low-cal protein shakes). And, then, get this: The day of the big event? She doesn’t even drink. No water. Nada. “No liquids at all so you dry out, sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that,” she says. Yikes.
Doutzen Kroes, says she maintains a 100 percent no-carbs and no-sugar diet 24-7.
Please, let’s not confuse what high-paid models do to their bodies with what you and I need to try to feel good about ourselves and be healthy.
Thoughts on this?
P.S. A healthier fitness secret from this VC model, and one bikini model says she loves her some fried chicken!

Romance Shop launches new plus size fantasy lingerie range

A spokesperson for The Romance Shop announced the launch of their new plus size fantasy lingerie range.
“The Romance Shop is an online adult shop designed to cater exclusively to the female market. We understand that our customers have a need for a wide range of size options when it comes to sexy outfits.”
“In my opinion, the fashion industry has been slow to respond to consumer demand and the reality of the average size of women today. I firmly believe in listening to our customers and taking action to give them what they want which is why we’ve introduced the new plus size range.”
The average Australian woman is now 70.1kg and a size 14 and as a nation we are getting heavier every year. Most models that we see in magazines are a size 8 and only about 5-10% of women are in the height and weight range of these models. Many retailers have been very slow to respond to the increasing size of the average women. Major Australian department stores are reportedly now increasing the size of shop dummies to a dress size of 18 and 20 for some fashion ranges in a move to reflect the realities of the market.
“Our customers are comfortable with their bodies no matter what their size and want to feel sexy and desirable. We cater to all sizes from petite to those with a curvier or plus size figure with our extensive range of fantasy lingerie and sexy costumes.”
“There are a lot of fashion retailers out there that are not listening to their customers. They are effectively ignoring larger sizes and as a result they are missing out on a large portion of the market.”
