Britney Spears hasn’t been to New York Fashion Week in 10 years—but when she comes, you better be sure, she works it, b**ch. Brit hit the Big Apple today to present her brand-new lingerie collection, dubbed the Intimate Britney Spears Collection, to fashion editors and industry insiders. It’s Britney’s first time designing clothing, and so, naturally, Nikki, Anne, and I had some questions (note to readers: when you interview Britney Spears, you must always come with backup!).
Before we get to the juicy stuff from Brit herself, let’s get to the collection, which she touted “hypnotizes men and inspires women.” First things first—Britney doesn’t lie: She’s not that innocent. Lacy red push-up bras, matching silky robes, sheer tap pants, and glam satin and lace nightgowns a la Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof composed the 15-look collection, which retails from $17 to $79 on Brit’s new site. Oh, and did I mention the proliferation of thongs? There were lots. Let’s just say that Britney does not enjoy unsightly panty lines as much as the next girl.
But like the best of us, Britney had a lot to say about her underpinnings:
She was embarrassed by her first bra:
“My first bra experience was a padded bra, and I was kind of ashamed because I wanted to wear a real bra like most girls,” mused Britney. “Still, to this day I wear padded bras…. That’s what’s really great about the line. They have push-up bras for a variety of women, for big women and small women.”
In case you were wondering, this is what Britney Spears wears to bed:
“I wear boxers and a T-shirt usually,” she said. “But if I want to feel really sexy, I put on the Intimate Britney spears collection at night and get a bottle of champagne and go to sleep.”
About that lingerie-looking stuff she wears onstage:
“Onstage lingerie is probably a little more flamboyant, with rhinestones and stuff to make it really shocking and elaborate,” noted Brit. “I actually don’t wear any lingerie onstage, but I used to in the past…I usually keep that for myself.”
Speaking of, why lingerie?
“I went to Europe [10 years ago] and I went to a store and it was really, really cool. It was a vintage lingerie sleepwear store. Everything in there was very different and very electric and beautiful. Ever since then, it was like “I want to do that. I want a lingerie line.” It’s something that’s been on my mind for a really long time now, so to be able to put it together and have my dream come true is really amazing.”
On how being a lingerie designer is going for her:
“That was the funnest part for me is picking out all the different fabrics and different details and having them all mesh well together,” says Britney. I’ve been wanting to do this for 10 years now.”

So what’s the consensus? Do You like Brit’s lingerie? Are you screaming “gimme more, gimme, gimme more” while reading this?
