Use IFW’s award-winning Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter networks to get the news and make the news

Freight executives are increasingly making use of social networking opportunities such as Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter to network, communicate and debate topics with other key decision-makers in the industry.

As part of our continuing commitment to delivering the most relevant freight and logistics stories, IFW has harnessed the power of Facebook and launched its very own Facebook page: IFW – Freight and Logistics News.

The Facebook group allows members to discuss developments in the industry, vote in industry polls, keep up to date with the latest news and features from IFW, view the IFW TV channel and exchange opinions and advice with others.

Editor Kizzi Nkwocha said IFW’s Facebook page was not only the best place for industry players to network, but also provided a platform for readers to connect with IFW’s team of journalists and shape future editorial content.

The page has regular discussions on industry trends and offers key decision-makers in the freight, logistics, air, overland and shipping sectors a chance to connect with their peers.

IFW also manages a professional group for the freight and logistics industry at Linkedin and we have a Twitter profile at www.twitter.com/ifwnet

IFW recently scooped a prestigious Specialised Information Publishers Association (Sipa) award for our social networking efforts.

The 2011 Sipa Best Use of Social Networks award went to IFW for its use of LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to help bring publication and readership closer together.

Judges said they were impressed by the growth of the IFW LinkedIn group, which after being established for just over a year has more than 2,500 members, and the way social networks have been used to promote content, supplements and the IFW Awards.
