Last week, she fuelled speculation that they might be engaged when she flashed a sparkling diamond ring on her finger.

Alas, it turned out it was simply a cheap ring she received for passing her GCSEs seven years ago and she was simply playing up to the cameras.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, she tweeted MailOnline to clarify the nature of her ring.

She wrote: ‘Waking up to congratulations on my #engagement ? Lol. @MailOnline I love you but that’s my £5 Newquay post GCSEs ring.’
