The Associated Press just added millions of minutes of video to YouTube, covering major world events spanning 120 years. Many snippets from fashion history have made their way to the now-crowded YouTube channel. Spend the afternoon doing some cultural sifting and watch everything from the most “futuristic and outlandish” bridal fashions of 1966 to three uninterrupted minutes of women walking in mini skirts to Kate Moss on being controversial in the ’90s.

In 1966 all eye were on Space, and, clearly, bridal gown designers were no exception. This eight-minute video shows plenty of odd feathered things to get married in, but the Space-inspired plastic suit takes the wedding cake.

With no music or comment attached, here is video of a photographer videotaping women walking around London in miniskirts. It’s like if you gave Bill Cunningham a camcorder and told him not to get anyone’s face in the reel.

“Look what she could do with carrots!” These hats from 1940 are totally crazy, even for 2015 standards. Of course most are made with items and edibles found in the kitchen.

Although this one may be more about bullfighting than fashion, Princess Grace of Monaco wears a perfectly-tailored suit and big sunglasses with it. And, damn, that brief gloved wave 45-seconds in makes Kate Middleton look like a copycat.

Here is video footage of Alber Elbaz’s debut collection for Yves Saint Laurent being presented in 1999. This was actually the fashion house’s first collection that was not designed by Mr. Saint Laurent himself. The beautiful woman being interview in French is Catherine Deneuve. Keep your eyes peeled for Suzy Menkes and stick around to see a 37-year-old Elbaz.

A carnival in Portugal, where there were bodysuits with winged-sleeves and little girls in cowboy hats.

Nina Ricci was first to exhibit its haute couture collection for spring 1997. The video’s caption notes that the highlight of this particular collection was the wedding gown, which was only followed by chief designer Gerard Pipart.

The video’s caption calls this lingerie show in Shanghai, where mostly men fill the audience, a sign of “China’s increasing openness.” It was part of the country’s Dessous 98 exhibition.

Snippets from the fall 1998 shows in London, featuring Vivienne Westwood’s funkier designs, and newbie Matthew Williamson’s more streamlined looks. Mick Jagger’s daughter Jade is interviewed at the end.

This video shows the scene at a Fashion Cafe opening in the Philippines. Most notable though, is supermodel Claudia Schiffer, who flew in for the event. The ’90s legend paid tribute to Gianni Versace who had recently been shot on his doorstep in 1997. She addresses her own protection against stalkers, “I have a team of people that looks through my fan mail and just make sure to separate who are real fans and who are not.”

You are witnessing opening day at Calvin Klein’s Hong Kong store. A young Kate Moss is in attendance, who speaks out on the controversy surrounding her campaign, “Even my mother says to me, ‘Kate, I’ve stopped worrying about you now,’ and if she can say that, I think the rest of America could stop worrying about me and what influence I’ve had on young kids.”

Valentino is presenting his 1968 collection, which promised “a new romantic look.”

People were interested in seeing princesses do arts and crafts in 1963, too. In this particular clip, the newly engaged Princess Desiree Elisabeth Sibylla of Sweden participates in some DIY for the camera.

Mohammad-Reza Shah Pahlavi and his wife, empress Farah of Persia took a trip to Austria in the most Trudy Campbell coat ever worn.
