Police: Man stole hundreds of dollars worth of lingerie

A 65 year-old Fairfield man was arrested for allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars worth of women’s lingerie last Tuesday.
Police said Macy’s store security detained Michael Kondrat on Feb. 10 after watching him put several items in his bag and try to leave the store. He allegedly took $514 worth of bras, stockings and underwear. Upon arrest, police found he had an additional $254 worth of stolen underwear from Victoria’s Secret.
Kondrat was charged with fifth and sixth degree larceny. Police said he had an extensive criminal history and told police he was homeless. His bond was set at $10,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court Feb. 17.
