PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A Bridgeport Village Shopping Center high-end underwear store was robbed by what police suspect is an organized theft ring.
Posh Lingerie was robbed of more than $2,400 in merchandise after five people entered the store late Sunday afternoon, the Tualatin Police Department said.
When the two men and three women entered the store, one person distracted the lone staffer while the others took several items, Tualatin police said.
The thieves spent just eight minutes in the store, owner Carolyn Boyd said.
She said she has poured her heart into the store, fueled by her passion for helping women feel beautiful.
“It really makes you first angry and then kind of hurt,” Boyd said of the robbery.
“The mom and dad came in asking a lot of questions and their three supposed children came and while [the employee] was answering their questions they were pilfering through the goods and stuffing them in bags evidently,” she said.
It was not until the following day police were notified of the theft ring, police said. Among the stolen items was a $1,600 couture robe, Boyd said.
