A new lingerie line is changing the game for plus-size women with incredibly flattering and stylish designs.

The Sophie Theallet for Lane Bryant collection features bras, slips and nightgowns in floral silk and lace patterns, with band sizes ranging between 38 and 44 inches and cup sizes C through H.

Unlike the beige stretch-band intimates typically associated with plus-size lingerie, these pieces are every inch as flirty and feminine as any straight-sized line.

Underwear and sleepwear will be available up to a size 26/28.

Some of the pieces have romantic lace cutouts and mesh inserts, adding to the classy sex appeal. And the designs are supportive without being constrictive, creating the perfect amount of lift for curvier ladies.

The collection, which will be sold under Lane Bryant’s lingerie brand Cacique, will range in price from $19.95 for underwear to $108 for corsets. It will be available online and in stores in early September.

Back in March, when the collaboration was first announced, Lane Bryant CEO Linda Heasley explained that it was high time for the label to branch out into sexier styles.

‘We wanted something a little risqué,’ she told WWD, adding: ‘Beautiful clothing should not be limited to size 12 and under.’

Ms Theallet, whose clients include Michelle Obama, worked for Jean-Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa before branching out and launching her own label in 2007.

Meanwhile, Lane Bryant is at the forefront of the plus-size fashion category, specializing in clothes and lingerie in sizes 14 to 28.

The retailer has recently been endeavoring to overcome its reputation for selling ‘dowdy, moderate-priced merchandise,’ according to WWD.

‘We want to bring something special to our clients, and show that she doesn’t have to be excluded from what many women enjoy,’ explained Ms Heasley.
