American Apparel Appoints First Female Board Member: The “Made in the USA” company was serious when they announced plans to shake up the board. In what seems to be an attempt at re-branding the label as more “female-friendly,” American Apparel has hired their first ever female board member, media executive Colleen Brown. Hopefully founder Dov Charney, who was ousted from his role as CEO earlier this year, will keep his pants on at meetings now. [Business of Fashion]

Britney Spears Is Designing Lingerie: Conquering Las Vegas wasn’t enough for this pop star. Now, she’s taking on a new role: lingerie designer. Britney Spears has partnered with Change Lingerie to launch a collection of intimates including bustiers, kimonos, camisoles, and nightgowns. “Every woman should feel confident and beautiful in everything she puts on,” Spears said. “My vision for the Intimate Britney Spears is to create pieces that are sexy, luxurious, and comfortable at the same time. Anna Wintour Takes Over Conde Nast Editorial: Adding another title to her resume, Anna Wintour has assumed responsibility as editorial director of Conde Nast, in addition to her roles as artistic director of worldwide publications and editor-in-chief of Vogue. The announcement comes during a shake-up of the media company’s executive staff, which has seen the exit of the current editorial director, CFO, and COO and the expansion of Wintour and Conde Nast president Robert A.
