Ohio man arrested in ABQ after child porn found in car

A 68-year-old Ohio man faces a sexual exploitation charge after numerous photos of prepubescent girls were found in his car, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.
Gary Seman told police he had come to Albuquerque to relocate, and his blue car was repossessed Wednesday morning by a local company, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court. That’s when an employee discovered 12 printed photos of prepubescent girls in the car and called the police, the complaint states.
Police found two DVDs of prepubescent girls in lingerie, according to the complaint.
Seman was tracked to an extended-stay hotel near Interstate 25 and Montaño, and he admitted that the child porn was his, according to the complaint. He told police he printed the photos from the Internet and had ordered the DVDs online, according to the complaint. He said the girl on the DVD is a “famous child model,” according to the complaint.
He told police he used the photos for “sexual gratification” and knew it was illegal to have them, according to the complaint.
“This shows to our community that this is something we’re not going to stand for … and we’re going to work as hard as we can and as diligently as we can to capture people like this,” APD spokesman Daren DeAguero said.
Seman said, “It was a mistake … it was just a mistake,” as he was walked from APD headquarters Downtown to be booked into the county jail.
DeAguero said it’s unclear if Seman has had any contact with kids or if he came to New Mexico to try to contact kids. DeAguero asked any parents with information to contact police. Seman told reporters he didn’t come to New Mexico to prey on kids.
