So you think you can sing? After Kim Kardashian ‘re-launches pop career …

We have to give it to these celebrities, they’re ambitious when it comes to expanding their talents across all areas – but sometimes, it’s best to leave music to the professionals.

After it was revealed Kim Kardashian is reportedly planning to re-launch her pop career (if we can call it that), we’ve taken a look at other celebrities and their musical fails.

Not that we’re presuming Kim’s will be a fail of course – we actually can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star - who released a single, Jam (Turn It Up) in 2011 (which we have included for you below) – is said to have had vocal coaching and songwriting lessons and will be enlisting the help of her husband, Kanye West, when she enters the recording studio.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kim has told pals she’s keen to be taken seriously as a vocal artist. Kanye will advise on the project, which he’s given his full backing.

“She’s started vocal coaching and songwriting lessons and set up meetings with record companies.”

It seems Kim has had a change of heart as she previously vowed never to make music again following her chart flop.

She previously said: “No, I’d never [make another single], that was just for fun, and for charity.”

This is all just a bit exciting then – we predict a gushy number about North West and THAT Florence wedding.

Take a look at more celebrities’ failed music career attempts here:

Katie Price

Katie Price’s ex Peter Andre had quite an effect on the star, and she decided to follow in his, er, footsteps and launch a pop career.

The former glamour model released a single Free To Love Again in 2010, and while the tune was a general flop all round, it did bounce her name back into the headlines.

We were gutted there was no music video with it – think of the possibilities.

Helen Flanagan

Oh Helen Flanagan, it seems you DO love to do more than model in sexy lingerie – you can smoke on a fag on camera too.

Someone give her a BRIT immediately. Or a bra.

Helen sang along to the song by New Zealand band The Neo-Kalashnikovs last year, but her pop career never went any further-  which is a real shame given the raunchy modelling she did for it.

Alex Reid

It was 2012, Alex Reid, or cage fighting cross dresser to you, had hit the big time.

The song Stardust features vocals from Alex on a Eurotrash dance tune, it’s what you would imagine the ringtone that Jay off The Inbetweeners would have.

The video shows Alex in a small nightclub having a dance, a few drinks and a laugh (obviously).

At one point, you see someone at the party do ‘the worm’ and ‘the caterpillar’ – that’s forwards and backwards – in classic Bradley from S Club 7 style.

Safe to say we didn’t see much more from him. Maybe Katie got him into pop?

Tara Palmer Tomkinson

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson (90s It girl) made an ‘attack’ on the charts with a debut single called Five Seconds in 2012.

Unfortunately, it does take more than five seconds to listen to it. It takes 234 seconds (we counted). But it’s worth it. Especially because there’s a particularly catchy bit where Tara drags out the syllables in the word “seconds”.

The accompanying video features Tara having her neck nuzzled by a model, approximately 18 clips of her pulling mournful faces while wearing in ill-advised hats, a garden swing, an abandoned office block, dogs, and our favourite part OF ALL – the bit when she bellyflops into the pool.

We don’t know either.

Eddie Murphy and Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson. So we’ll leave him alone.

Eddie Murphy however is Eddie Murphy. And watching him flex his biceps against an animated background while rainbow-coloured peace signs float about around his face? Well, it just seems unnecessary, really.

The actor also attempted a single of his own with Party All The Time in 1985 – but it doesn’t come close to the ‘magic’ of his collaboration with Jackson. Watch the video above.

Paris Hilton

Unfortunately for Paris, stars are not deaf. And unfortunately for us, we are not blind.

The reality star released her Stars Are Blind tune in 2006, and it DID reach the top 5 in a fair few countries – congrats Paris.

But the video? Well, see for yourelf.

Shane Ritchie

This should really make the top three worst videos, except for the fact that it was made for charity. And we like charity.

Even when it involves a soap actor dancing along a line of models sat on post-modernist kitchen furniture.

Our favourite part around the time EastEnders’ Alfie released his tune I’m Your Man, was when the soap bosses decided to incorporate it into the soap itself.

An episode showed Kat turn the volume up when she heard it on the radio – aren’t they a funny lot?

Heidi Montag

We spend quite a lot of time thinking about Heidi Montag. Sometimes we think about what she’s doing now. Mostly we just think about how long it took her to master running really really slowly.

Our money is on five days.

The reality star made her musical debut in 2008 with Higher, and it didn’t exactly go to plan, with fans responding with some serious criticism. Still, points for trying?

Adam Rickitt

We were slightly disturbed straight away when we heard Corrie star Adam had released a single, but then we saw the video.

WOW.

The blonde hunk is trapped in some sort of glass cage with some serious heavy breathing going on in the background.

Oh, and he’s naked.
