Two middle school students are in trouble after police and school officials caught them on camera vandalizing Belleview Elementary School in Rock Hill, said principal John Kirell.

On Monday morning, police met with Kirell who said that at some point between 2 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Monday, someone entered the school and caused damage, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The subjects went in the media center and put pictures of a woman in her bra and underwear on all the television screens. They also painted the walls using school paint. In the cafeteria, the vandals “poured out all of the vomit clean up kit” and moved tables around. In the gym, they threw balls at the air vent and used bows and arrows to shoot at a target.

The subjects also went in several classrooms, although nothing was taken or damaged. They did rearrange some magnetic letters to spell out the word, “ROBBED” and wrote the same word in a sand tray.

Using the school’s security camera footage, Kirell said the suspects were easily identified as the two middle school students.

“They thought they were pretty clever,” Kirell said. “They clearly didn’t realize everytime they were moving, there’s a camera on them.”

The district and police will be moving forward with consequences, he said.
