The last few designers to participate in New York Fashion Week are currently showing their fall 2014 ready-to-wear collections in the Big Apple today, but later this month, a different group of designers will put their latest wares on display in the city.
A number of lingerie designers will head to Canoe Studios in New York City on February 20, 21 and 22 to show off their wares as part of the third season of Lingerie Fashion Week, the first fashion week worldwide created exclusively for intimate apparel brands.
“Lingerie Fashion Week presents a progressive events marketing platform merging the lingerie, fashion and creative communities. The multi-day event presents an exciting industry hub designed to shed a powerful spotlight on both intimates designers and the industry as a whole,” according to a press release.
Earlier this month, a preliminary designer lineup for the three-day event was released, with a slew of designers – both established and emerging – slated to participate.
Affinitas Parfait, a global lingerie powerhouse, and BRADELIS New York, which offers luxury lingerie for everyday wear, have both showed at Lingerie Fashion Week in the past and will do so again this season. Another veteran, FYI by Dani Read, is slated to present “a collection of aggressive luxury lingerie for the femme fatale with a sinister high fashion edge – and not for the faint of heart.
Kix’ies Thigh Highs will host a presentation featuring special guest performers, new luxury boudoir wear label LAYNEAU COLLECTION‘s presentation will be set to live music by the Boudreaux string quartet, and modern-boudoir luxury house Naked Princess will show elegant loungewear and special occasion lingerie.
Additionally, Lingerie Fashion Week will feature a Made in the USA group presentation, which includes designers from Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. There will also be a special exhibition, titled Ones to Watch, which will feature new and emerging designers.
In addition to the lingerie shows, presentations and special exhibitions, Lingerie Fashion Week will also include various cocktail receptions and other social events.
