Brides are normally supposed to save their feminine treasures for the night after their wedding.

But an increasing number of brides are surprising their grooms with saucy portraits of themselves prior to tying the knot.

Known as boudoir photography, the trend involves brides-to-be donning lingerie and being snapped by professional photographers to create sexy photographs for their fiances.

For some, the photos are said to help satisfy the sexual desires of their husbands who then have no reason to search for internet porn later in their married life.

Lynn Michelle, a Dallas-based photographer, told TheDaily.com that she snaps somewhere between 60 to 80 brides per year.

‘A lot of women do boudoir because they’re afraid their fiances are looking at porn and they’d rather them be looking at her,’ she said.

Terilyn Brown of J’adore by Achetype told MailOnline that she caters for about two brides per month and has photographed brides as young as 24.

‘It’s
really the ultimate gift from brides to their fiance,’ she said. ‘We do
all the styling on our own and include wardrobe as part of their
shoot… there’s lots of consultation.’

Tasteful: While most photos remain demure, like the above which was snapped by Simply Bloom Photography based in Alabama, others can turn extremely risque as some brides dare to be different these days

Alabama-based company, Simply Bloom Photography, also specialise in such work.

Priced from $1,000 per shoot, the work that Ms Michelle conducts involves using much of the same type of props.

Brides often bring veils, garters and wedding night lingerie to their photo shoots.

Sporting jerseys and business shirts have also been worn by daring models in the past.

But the saucy trend is not limited to brides, Ms Michelle added.

Women photographed in the
past have also included military wives, divorcees who are longing to ‘get back
in the game’ and middle-aged women celebrating tummy tucks.

The photographer said: ‘I get a lot of preachers’ wives bringing in blindfolds and thinking they’re the dirtiest things ever. I had one woman order two albums – one for her husband and one for her boyfriend.’

Kate McElwee, a Boston-based photographer, who also offers boudoir services, said: ‘I had one girl whose husband was really into fishing so she bought his waders and wore them and nothing else.’

‘I knew that he could capture better photos if I was willing to let me guard down’

New Jersey photographer Tony Yang often snaps X-rated shoots.

‘I hate the words classy and tasteful,’ he said. ‘People describe my work that way but being an artist, I don’t want to be constrained. The whole point of the session is that it’s private. Why do you have to hold back?’

He added that he plays Britney Spears music when he is shooting women and he gives his subjects wine in order to help them feel more relaxed while they are on shoot.

One of his New York-based clients, Allie, 29, revealed that she got completely naked during her shoot.

‘I knew that he could capture better photos if I was willing to let me guard down,’ she said.

Ms Michelle said usual reactions from husbands involve ‘absolute silence followed by the word wow’.

And we wonder why ppl like Kim Kardashian make sex tapes and twitter modelling photos of themselves everyday. Sigh! The whole society has turned into a live show for anyone willing to watch. STUPID brides then! Next thing will be girls making sextapes so that their boyfriends donĀ“t watch othersĀ“ on the net. Is there anybody left who will just keep their privacy PRIVATE?

I think the first photo is very nice, but the others look a bit cheap and tacky. The first photo is something that would go nicely planted somewhere in the bedroom.

$1,000 per shoot when they are starting a life together and probably spending too much anyway on the wedding?
