Lovable Lingerie announced its financial results for the period
ended June 30, 2012. The company has posted net profit of Rs 75.194 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 70.022 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, representing an increase of 7.39 per cent.
Total income was at Rs 527.610 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 whereas the same was at Rs 457.081 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, an increase of 15.43 per cent. The company has reported an EPS of Rs 4.48 for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 4.17 for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
Lovable has entered into a joint venture with the London-based Lifestyle Galleries to manufacture and market super-premium products. This apart, Lovable has also started widening its product portfolio by extending the Lovable brand into segments like sleepwear and home-wear under the ‘Leisure’ sub-brand and has launched cotton lingerie under the brand ‘Cotton Essensuals’.
According to a research report by CARE, in volume terms the women’s lingerie segment holds a 52 per cent share of the total innerwear market in India. In value terms, it enjoys 66 per cent share of the total lingerie market, with a higher average selling price (ASP) compared to the men’s innerwear market. Overall the lingerie industry in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 18.3 per cent over the period 2009-2014.
