She loves to push the boundaries when it comes to fashion, but Mary-Kate Olsen’s choice of outfit yesterday was rather peculiar – even by her standards.
The 26-year-old emerged wearing men’s shoes – which looked to be a size too big – and a huge masculine jacket despite temperatures in New York reaching a sweltering 100 degrees (37C).
She might have been forced to borrow
clothes after an unexpected sleepover – or perhaps she just decided to ignore the
heat for the sake of a fashion-forward look.

The former child star, who is dating
Olivier Sarkozy, the half brother of former French President Nicolas
Sarkozy, also popped into lingerie store La Perla in the Meatpacking District
during her outing.
She carried a black Mulberry bag, had her hair scraped back in a high bun and wore nude make-up with dark sunglasses.
Mary-Kate was seen out on a date with Olivier, 42, and his young daughter last month.

The daughter, whose name and age are unknown, is the child of the investment banker’s former wife Charlotte Bernard, whom he divorced in 2010.
Ms Bernard is not likely to be
impressed by the outing as she spoke out about her disapproval over her
ex-husband’s new relationship earlier this month.
Branding their union as ‘grotesque’, she told the National Enquirer that it was also ‘not right’.

An insider also told the magazine:
‘Charlotte certainly won’t want her kids to be around Mary-Kate, who has
a history of wild-partying and booze binges.’

Kate is 17 years her boyfriend’s junior but they are said to be ‘head
over heels’ after being spotted cuddling up to each other at Madison
Square Gardens on April 25.
