Sony Ericsson unveils the Live with Walkman

Sony Ericsson today announced the Live with Walkman smartphone. This phone comes equipped with features such as Android 2.3 ndash; Gingerbread OS, dedicated music capability and lsquo;deep Facebook integrationrsquo; through which a user can access Facebook with applications such as the gallery, music player, contacts and calendar among others.nbsp;nbsp;

According to Sonyrsquo;s press release, Nikolaus Scheurer, head of product marketing, Sony Ericsson said, ldquo;consumers want smartphones to deliver a rich and social entertainment experience. They want instant and seamless access to new content to share and connect with friends. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman provides exactly this in a powerful package with great style.rdquo;

Key features of the handset includes a 1GHz processor, 520 MB RAM, 3.2-inch screen equipped with 320 x 480 p resolution, a 5- mega pixel primary LED flash camera and a secondary VGA camera. The device also supports 720p video recording.

The phone is the latest addition to the line of Sony Walkman phones with its Walkman capability being the most prominent feature. It comes with an infinity button that lets the user explore media and videos at the touch of a button. Along with that, it comes with stereo speakers and enhanced audio output. Sony provides its own music service ndash; Qriosity, through which its users can get access to numerous songs and movies online. It is also equipped with the Track ID technology that identifies the song you are listening to on the FM.

The phone supports 3G connectivity and also supports Wi-Fi, DLNA, and A2DP Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspot.

The phone will have access to 250,000 apps from the Android Market and come pre-loaded with features such as an accelerometer and proximity sensor. It offers 320 MB internal and 32 GB expandable storage.

The Sony Ericsson Live would be available in two colors ndash;Black and White. It is expected to be released in Q4 2011. The price of the handset is not yet known but we expect it to be between Rs 10,00-15000.
