HTC Status Facebook phone review, specs and retail price

The HTC Status handset is also known as the Facebook phone. The first handset to offer one-button share capability with the world’s largest social media network, and a proprietary Facebook button, the HTC Status is definitely a phone designed with texting and keyboarding in mind. Whether your social network favorite is Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or any other social sharing platform, one glance at the HTC Status reveals that this phone was designed with a bigger keyboard and smaller 2.6 inch touch screen display to allow those of us who are keyboard intensive a better texting and keyboarding experience.

First off, let’s cover pricing. At only one penny, the HTC Status enjoys the lowest possible retail price in the 3G or 4G marketplace. Not much more can be said about the price, it is about as attractive as a price can get for any product. Adding first-ever Facebook integration to such a low retail is going to be attractive for smartphone shoppers who enjoy texting and social media networking.

For all you Facebook addicts, the new HTC Status with built in Facebook features is only $.01, a penny, for all customers new and existing upgrades.

With 5 megapixel rear camera, 0.3 megapixel forward camera, 800 MHz single core QUALCOMM processor, 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM this is not your typical, high-powered smartphone, and is certainly not as powerful as those big screen 4G monsters you see everywhere. But for what it is intended to do, it is made perfectly. Designed to handle light to medium multimedia and multitasking, the HTC Status Facebook Phone is dedicated to do what it was physically designed to do best – connect with other Web surfers. And the HTC Status is inclined to do that, literally.

The “inclined” I am referring to is the slight tilt that the display makes rising up from the large, 4 row QWERTY keyboard. It is angled slightly towards you, much like a laptop folds forward. This slight contour makes for a much more natural, two hand, thumb-texting orientation. It also makes for a much smoother fit when placing and receiving calls, matching the curve of your face. Along with one-button Facebook HTC Status update ability, the contoured design and texting dedicated approach of the HTC Status make it a unique phone inclined for social interaction, and a great value at only one penny.
