WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump on Friday said he would leave to his chief of staff the decision of whether to grant a security-clearance waiver to Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser and his son-in-law.
Asked whether he would grant a waiver to Mr. Kushner, who holds an interim security clearance more than 13 months into his tenure in the administration, Mr. Trump said, “I’m going to let General Kelly make that decision, and he’s going to do what’s right for country. And I have no doubt he will make the right decision.”
