While the snow that is falling now will turn into a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain this afternoon, forecasters say it should all turn into rain in time for those heading out to Super Bowl parties today.

But drivers should still be careful as a winter-weather advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service at State College, occasional snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, is expected before 1 p.m.

That will change over to a mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet until about 4 p.m. before transitioning into just rain, mainly before 7 p.m.

Less than an inch of accumulation is expected.

The Harrisburg area is dodging the brunt of the bad weather as areas to the west and north will likely see more snow and a wintry mix through the evening.

Today will see a high of 35 and a low of 22.

Monday will be sunny with a high of 30 and a low of 18.

A slight chance of rain and snow is in the forecast for Tuesday morning, becoming a 70 percent chance of snow at night. Expect a high of 37 and a low of 28.

Wednesday will see a 90 percent chance of rain during the day and a 50 percent chance of snow at night with a high of 41 and a low of 23.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 33 and a low around 18.

Friday will be partly sunny with a high of 37 and a low of 26.

And a 40 percent chance of more rain and snow is in the forecast for Saturday, which will be mostly cloudy with a high near 39.
