Missing Texas A&M reporter Courtney Roland found in Houston, appears unharmed

Houston police say they have located sports reporter Courtney Roland after authorities had found a Jeep belonging to the 29-year-old Texas woman.

Houston Police officers said in a press conference Monday afternoon that they believe sports reporter Courtney Roland, who went missing over the weekend, was confused due to a reaction to medication.
Police said Roland, who covers Texas AM for Rivals.com, went missing Saturday night into Sunday morning and a missing-person report was filed Sunday. Roland was discovered Monday morning by a citizen who saw her walking under an overpass toward a Chick-fil-A, according to police.
Though Roland, 29, had texted her roommate about a suspicious man in a blue truck who followed her home Saturday, according to the local NBC affiliate, police said they do not suspect any “foul play.”
“There’s no evidence to indicate that she was assaulted at this time,” officer Mark Lentini told reporters. “Now a more thorough investigation may reveal something different, but at this time, we do not believe anything criminal occurred to her.”

Roland was taken to a local hospital for routine evaluation and was there with friends and family as of early Monday afternoon, according to police. Police said she had some “bumps and bruises,” didn’t remember everything that transpired in recent days and was still having some issues with her memory.

Though she went missing Saturday night after attending a football camp, video cameras captured Roland walking alone in a local shopping mall Sunday afternoon, police said. Officer Manny Cruz told reporters they believe she was trying to locate her phone using her iPad. The phone was found in her car, according to police.
“I think in her state of confusion, I think she kind of lost track of time and her awareness,” Cruz said. “I don’t think that she was aware that she was being looked at as a missing person. That makes it very hard for us to find somebody, when (they) don’t actually know they are missing as reported.”
