Teacher used handout to tell students to be like Michael Jordan, not Kevin Durant

Students can learn some things from athletes. Hard work, determination, dedication — these are amazing qualities. One teacher might have taken the idea of athletes as learning tools a little too far:
This is purported to be a handout given to students on the first day of school. The text seems to indicate this was for a middle or high school language class, and it tells students directly to model their lives after Michael Jordan, not Kevin Durant:
“KD left the OKC Thunder last summer after falling to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Following the end of the season, he decided it was in his best interest to join the very same team that has just knocked him out of the playoffs. Don’t be like KD. Don’t take the easy way out.”
This isn’t exactly a hot take. It’s the same take people have been using for over a year and it’s tired. That said, the lines about MJ were pretty funny — so credit where it’s due:
“The greatest thing this man ever did? Saving the Looney Tunes from a lifetime of servitude to an alien race. Did MJ take the easy way out? Did he ever back down from a challenge? NO! Be like Mike.”
The handout, which is basically NBA “Goofus and Gallant” is pretty desperate to connect with the youth.
Problem is: Most kids don’t care and think KD is awesome regardless — because he is.
